Danny O’Brien Scores Third Place Finish in LaSalle Motorsports Ride at Brighton Speedway; Weedsport and Brewerton Coming up Next

After a solid sixth place finish last week at Mohawk Raceway, Danny O’Brien and the LaSalle Motorsports team returned to the track this weekend at the 10th annual Applefest Weekend at Brighton Speedway.

Danny took to the track Friday night for a couple of hot lap sessions and the car looked fast. He continued to look strong on Saturday, posting a second place finish in his qualifying heat race, and by luck of the draw would start the 100 lap main event from the front row. Danny led the opening 20 laps of the race, and remained in the top three throughout the race. He crossed the finish line with a solid third place result.

O’Brien will be back in his own 1000 Islands RV sponsored 17D for the satellite shows at Super DIRT Week next month (Weedsport and Brewerton), and will conclude the 2014 season back at Brockville for the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals with his own car on Friday, October 17th for the DIRTcar 358 Modified event, and will conclude the 2014 season on Saturday, October 18th back in the LaSalle Motorsports ride for the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series.

Danny O’Brien would like to thank 1000 Islands RV Centre, Pat’s Auto Centre, BOB FM, Ponte Bros. Masonry, Morrison Racing Engines, Snap-On Adam Way, Bicknell Racing Products, ATC World Class Trailers and Integra Racing Shocks for their continuous support throughout the 2014 season.

Danny O’Brien Gets Sixth Place Finish in DIRTcar 358 Series Race at Mohawk International Raceway; Applefest Weekend Coming up at Brighton

The 2014 season at Mohawk Raceway came to an end this past weekend as Danny O’Brien and his team, along with the LaSalle Motorsports team attended the Mohawk Nationals Weekend featuring a DIRTcar 358 Series race on Friday night and a Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series event on Saturday. O’Brien was back behind the wheel of the LaSalle Motorsports entry both nights.

On Friday night, O’Brien started the night off by timing third fastest in his time trial group, placing him third to start his qualifier. Danny finished the race in third, earning a spot in the all-important redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the 75 lap main event. After drawing position number nine, O’Brien lined up from the inside of row five and for the first 20 laps, it was a struggle. The first and only caution of the race came on lap 20 and O’Brien was riding in the 11th position. When the race resumed, he was finally able to work his way forward and was up to seventh as they hit lap 30. As the race progressed without a caution, passing was tough, but Danny found himself in a great battle for the sixth position over the final stages of the race and he would go on to finish in the sixth position.

“We missed the setup a little tonight, but it was still pretty good”, explained O’Brien after the race. “I really have to thank the crew, and the LaSalle Motorsports team for all their hard work, and allowing me to race their car this weekend”.

Saturday was a very frustrating day for everyone at Mohawk Raceway as drivers and fans alike waited out Mother Nature before the races finally got underway just before 11PM. To compound the frustration, DIRTcar officials elected to start the 100 lap main event with a lineup based on Super DIRTcar Series points, meaning O’Brien would have to come from the rear of the field with his 358 Modified against the more powerful Big Blocks on a very fast race track. O’Brien tried to battle with the Big Blocks, but was unsuccessful and pulled off the track with less than 30 laps complete.

O’Brien will be back in his own 1000 Islands RV sponsored car for this weekend’s events at Brighton Speedway. The track will host the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series on Saturday night to conclude their popular Applefest Weekend. Danny also plans to run some of the satellite shows at Super DIRT Week next month (Weedsport and Brewerton), and will conclude the 2014 season back at Brockville for the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.

Danny O’Brien Claims 11th Brockville Speedway Championship in Style With Eighth BOS Victory of the Season on Saturday Night

The 2014 season is one for the record books for Danny O’Brien and his team. They completed their quest for an unprecedented 11th track championship and closed the deal in typical Danny O’Brien fashion with a dominating win in the second of two 20 lap events to conclude the 2014 regular season. O’Brien also completed the season at Mohawk Raceway on Friday night and captured his first ever Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” 358 Modified Series championship.

Mohawk Raceway was up first on the weekend agenda and O’Brien was back behind the wheel of the Mike and Lori LaSalle owned M96 Modified. O’Brien scored the win in the qualifying heat race, earning valuable points toward the Frenchie’s title, and those points would prove to be the difference by the end of the night. Danny started the 50 lap main event from the 10th position and maintained a seventh place finish through the opening 25 laps of the race. Once the race hit halfway, Danny started to move forward and with each passing lap the car seemed to get better and better. With 10 laps remaining he was inside the top five and was up to fourth when the final caution was displayed on lap 43. When the race resumed, Danny picked up one more spot to finish in third place and ended up in a tie for the Frenchie’s Series championship. By virtue of his Series win on opening night, O’Brien was declared Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” 358 Modified champion for 2014.

“The car was pretty good, especially in the second half of the race”, says O’Brien. “I really have to thank Mike and Lori (LaSalle) for allowing us to use their car. We are looking forward to tomorrow night at Brockville and hopefully celebrating the championship there as well.

O’Brien carried a 62 point advantage going into the night at Brockville, but with twin 20 lap features on the line, it was going to be important to get through the qualifying heat races and the first feature unscathed. O’Brien did what he needed to do, and after a 9th place finish in the first 20 lap feature, he had clinched his 11th Brockville Speedway championship. O’Brien didn’t back off though, and he went on to record the win in feature number two, taking his eighth feature of the season at the BOS in just 16 events.

“It is a team effort for sure”, says O’Brien. “I can’t thank the team enough for all their hard work throughout the season. I have said it before, races are won on the track, and championships are won in the shop, and we have a great team behind us that work on these cars”.

O’Brien will return to Mohawk International Raceway next weekend for their annual Mohawk Nationals Weekend. Friday night will be a 358 Modified DIRTcar Series race followed by a Big Block Super DIRTcar Series event on Saturday. The following weekend will be the annual Applefest weekend at Brighton Speedway.

Danny O’Brien Looking to Seal the Deal on 11th BOS Track Championship; Also Leads the Way in Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” Series at Mohawk

Over the course of the 2014 season, Danny O’Brien has been on top of his game at Brockville Speedway, posting seven feature wins, including four consecutive victories to sweep the entire month of July. All of the hard work and effort has paid off so far, but the biggest prize still awaits with an impressive 11th track championship at Brockville on his doorstep.

Danny will enter Saturday night’s finale at Brockville Speedway with a massive 62 point lead in the standings. Double features were voted in by the fans, making the final night a little tricky for O’Brien, but barring any kind of disaster in the first event, O’Brien will come out on top for the 11th time at the BOS in his career.

“We have had a great year here at Brockville, but we aren’t quite finished yet, says O’Brien. “We have two more features to run here for points, and hopefully we can pick up another win or two”.

The BOS championship is not the only title that Danny could win this weekend, as he currently carries a two point advantage in the battle for the Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” 358 Modified Series at Mohawk International Raceway. Friday night’s 50 lap main event will be the series finale and Danny will be looking to close the series with a win, just as he opened the series with a win back on May 31st. Danny also has a mathematical chance of winning the overall Mohawk Raceway track title, but will have a 44 point deficit to make up, which is quite unlikely.

“We have struggled here at MIR this season, but have finished well enough in these Frenchie’s Series events to stay in contention”, says O’Brien. We will do our best Friday night and see where things play out in the end”.

In addition to the weekly events to end the regular season, O’Brien will also race at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night in their 125 lap DIRTcar 358 Modified Series race. O’Brien won this same Labor Day weekend event at Cornwall back in 2010, and had a podium finish in a similar 100 lap event at the beginning of the 2014 season.

Danny O’Brien Returns to Brockville Victory Lane for the Seventh Time in 2014; Continues to Lead the Way in Championship Standings at the BOS

The win streak may have ended at four last week, but it didn’t take Danny O’Brien long to find his way back after a thrilling performance again on Saturday night. O’Brien made a late race pass for victory on Saturday night at Brockville Speedway claiming his second consecutive Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series championship.

A timed hot lap session determined the lineup for the qualifying heat races, and Danny was fastest in his group and backed that up with a heat race win. The race was divided into three segments, with a possible inversion at the end of segment one and two. The first segment lasted 10 laps, in which Danny was out front. Come inversion time, the number on the inversion dice was three, and Danny would restart the race from the third position. Danny remained in third through segment two and once again a dice was rolled to determine the inversion. A six was rolled, meaning the top six cars would invert their positions for the start of the final segment. Danny remained in third to start segment three, and was up to second and began challenging for the lead halfway through the final segment. Danny swapped the lead a couple times through lap 55 before pulling away over the final couple circuits.

“The car worked great again tonight”, says O’Brien. “I really have to thank the crew, all of our sponsors and the great race fans for their support each week”.

O’Brien will return to Mohawk International Raceway this Friday night after a rare week off last week. He will also be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night as he looks to add to his 69 point lead in the chase for the BOS championship. There are just three point events remaining at each track in 2014.

Danny O’Brien Comes up Short in Quest for Fifth Consecutive Win at the BOS; Maintains Healthy Point Lead With Just Four Weeks Remaining

After a perfect month of July at Brockville Speedway, Danny O’Brien was looking for a similar start to the month of August after the BOS imposed a “Bounty” reward for anyone that could break his winning streak. Danny was also looking for a strong run at Mohawk Raceway on Friday night after struggling the past couple weeks.

Mohawk International Raceway was the first stop on the weekend schedule and O’Brien was looking to get back on track after a few disappointing results at MIR. Danny started his qualifying heat race from fifth and worked his way up to finish in second. He started the 25 lap feature from 11th on the starting grid and had moved up to sixth at one point, but the handling went away on the car late, and he faded to an eighth place finish.

“I don’t know what it is here, we just cant seem to get the car dialed in here recently”, says O’Brien. “We will keep plugging away at it, and hopefully we can get some strong finishes before the season is over”.

It was a big night at Brockville on Saturday night with the imposed “Bounty” adding to the night. A late afternoon thunderstorm was also thrown into the mix, causing havoc on the track conditions all night long. O’Brien was fast early, posting an extremely fast lap time of 14.1 seconds early in the night. Danny was up for a bonus himself if he were to start from the rear of the field, and shortly after coming on to the track to start the feature he chose to do so and started from the very end of the field. By lap nine, Danny was up to the top ten, but he was involved in an incident on the track, but was able to return to the rear of the field. O’Brien made steady progress throughout the event and managed a sixth place result.

O’Brien will have the night off at MIR on Friday night. He will return to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night for the final round of the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown. O’Brien is the defending champion of the Ogilvie’s Series and is currently tied for first going into the finale. In the overall Brockville standings he is in first place with a commanding 61 point advantage with four events remaining.

Danny O’Brien Will Face a Brockville Speedway Imposed “Bounty” After Fourth Consecutive Feature Win on Saturday Night

After winning four consecutive features at Brockville Speedway, literally going undefeated throughout an entire month of racing, Brockville Ontario Speedway has issued a “Bounty” on Danny O’Brien. The proposed bounty is good natured of course, consisting of a reward for anyone that can beat Danny O’Brien on the track next week. The track will offer a $300 bonus to a race team that can beat Danny on the track, (mechanical failure or crash not included). If the bounty goes unclaimed, $100 will be added each week until someone wins it. Danny on the other hand will also race for a bonus if he were to win the race.

“This is pretty cool really”, says O’Brien. “The competition here is so tough, so to win four in a row here is pretty crazy. “We will have fun with this bounty and hopefully we can keep it going for a few weeks and see what happens”.

While O’Brien is at the top of his game at Brockville, his other weekly track seems to be a struggle each week. Last weekend was another caution-free race and after starting mid pack, Danny did all he could to salvage a top ten finish.

“It has been real tough at MIR this year, and we are scratching our heads trying to figure it out. Last Friday night I was real confident after the final hot lap session, thinking we had a car that could win, and we just couldn’t go anywhere once the race started”.

O’Brien will be back at MIR this Friday night, and will return to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night looking to extend his streak to an unprecedented five feature wins in a row. Danny will enter the night with a 61 point lead going into the final month of the regular season.

Danny O’Brien Scores Third Consecutive Feature Win at Brockville on Saturday Night; Quest for 11th BOS Championship Looking Strong

With the month of July rapidly coming to an end, Danny O’Brien and his race team continue to move closer and closer to their quest for an unprecedented 11th track championship at Brockville Speedway. O’Brien was in victory lane at Brockville the past two weekends and was looking for three wins in a row on Saturday night. He was also looking for the same luck at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night.

At Mohawk International Raceway, O’Brien has run well all season, but has not had been the dominant car like he has been at Brockville. Danny has a win to his credit earlier this season and was looking to get back there again on Friday night. After posting a third place finish in his qualifying heat race from his eighth place starting position, optimism was high going into the 25 lap main event. Rolling off the starting grid from the 9th position, O’Brien was looking to get off to a strong start, but through the opening 10 laps he picked up just two positions, running in seventh. Danny picked up the pace over the next 20 laps, moving into the top five before completing lap 20. With just two laps remaining, the final caution of the race was displayed, regrouping the field for one last restart. By this time, O’Brien was up to third place, and that is where he would finish.

“It was a good run for us. We continued to get off to a slow start here for some reason, but it wasn’t as bad tonight”, says O’Brien. “We still have some work to do to catch up to the 23 car”.

O’Brien returned to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night looking to extend his winning streak. Danny began the night with a fourth in his qualifier, and started the 30 lap main event from the 11th position. At the drop of the green flag, Danny quickly moved forward and by lap seven he was inside the top five and looking for more. By lap 13 he was up to third and advanced one more spot to second before hitting the halfway point of the race. O’Brien made an impressive move to grab the lead on lap 15 and never looked back, cruising to his third consecutive win and fifth overall at Brockville.

“The car was pretty much perfect again tonight”, says O’Brien after the race. “I really have to thank all the crew that works on the car, our sponsors, and the great race fans that come out and support us each week”.

O’Brien and his team will return to Mohawk International Raceway this Friday night and Brockville Speedway once again on Saturday night.

Danny O’Brien Continues Brockville Domination With Second Consecutive Victory; Closing in on 11th BOS Track Championship as Point Lead Grows

After an impressive win last week at Brockville Speedway in the 50 lap Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series event, Danny O’Brien and his team were looking forward to the opportunity to do it all over again this past week with events at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night and Brockville Speedway on Saturday.

O’Brien began the weekend with the usual visit to Mohawk International Raceway. After starting sixth in the qualifier, O’Brien worked his way forward and was up to second at the checkered flag. After making some adjustments to the car, Danny returned later in the evening for the 25 lap main event, starting from the 11th position. The entire race went caution free, and passing was at a premium as the field got spread out. O’Brien would end the night with an eighth place result.

“The car wasn’t bad, but it just seemed to take a while to get going”, says O’Brien. “It is something that we will need to work on real quick. “It was hard to do anything tonight as the field gets spread out and no cautions to get us bunched up again. We will take it and move on to the next race”.

Brockville Speedway was up next on Saturday night. There is no question that O’Brien has been the car to beat so far into the 2014 season at the BOS. His win last week was his third of the season, and by the end of Saturday night he would have four. He started the 30 lap main event from 12th place and was up to fifth before they had completed lap ten. O’Brien continued to march towards the front, and by lap 20 he was in second place and all over the race leader waiting for the right opportunity. A caution with 10 laps remaining regrouped the field and Danny continued to apply heavy pressure and by lap 24 he made his way to the front of the pack. A lap 29 yellow slowed the field one last time but O’Brien wouldn’t be denied his fourth BOS victory of the season. He now has a commanding 42 point lead in his quest for his 11th Brockville track title.

“The car was pretty much perfect tonight”, says O’Brien. I have to thank all the crew here for their help and all the sponsors as well for their support. I would also like to thank the great fans that come out each week and support us”.

Danny O’Brien Dominates 50 Lap Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series Race at Brockville Speedway; 6th Place Result at Mohawk Raceway

As the 2014 season rolls into the month of July, Danny O’Brien and his team find themselves in the hunt for track titles and series championships. It was a big weekend this past weekend with 50 lap events at both tracks on the schedule.

Mohawk International Raceway was up first on Friday night. Starting positions for the qualifier was determined by a draw as they entered the track for the evening, and by luck of the draw, O’Brien would start from the front of the field. He cruised to victory, earning a top 12 starting spot for the 50 lap Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” Series. Danny selected number seven, and would start from the inside of row four. It was a tough battle for the opening 30 laps before he started to finally gain some ground after lap 30, making his way inside the top five. Over the final few laps, O’Brien lost one position to finish in sixth.

The next stop on the weekend schedule was Brockville Speedway as they hosted a 50 lap Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series race. As a 10 time track champion at the BOS and defending Ogilvie’s Series champion, all eyes were on O’Brien throughout the night. A timed hot lap session determined the starting order for the qualifying heat races, and Danny was fastest in his group. He started his heat from the front row and drove to victory. As a result of winning the third heat race, Danny started the 50 lap main event from the third position. He quickly moved to second and began to chase down the race leader. As the lead pack hit lapped traffic, O’Brien started to get closer and closer, and used the heavy traffic to his advantage to gain the top spot on lap 22. O’Brien diced his way through lapped traffic at a torrid pace during the second half of the race, lapping up to the sixth place car before the checkered flag on a rare caution free 50 lap feature.

“This was a great race tonight”, says O’Brien from victory lane. “I really have to thank all of our sponsors and this great team that has worked hard all week on this car, and throughout the season”.

The O’Brien team will return to Mohawk Raceway this coming Friday night as they look to gain a few points in the chase for the track title. Danny is currently seven points back of first place at MIR, and leads the Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” series by just two points. Danny will also race at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night looking to increase his 20 point lead in the battle for an unprecedented 11th BOS track championship. Danny is also tied for first in the battle for the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series championshop.

Danny O’Brien Rallies to Finish Second at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night; Another Top Five Finish at Mohawk International Raceway

After getting rained out last week at both Mohawk International Raceway and Brockville Speedway, Danny O’Brien returned to his 2014 weekly tracks this under much better conditions this past weekend.

Mohawk International Raceway was the destination on Friday night. With all the rainouts they have had this season, Friday night was only the second event of the season for the Modified Division. Danny started the night off with a win in his qualifier, blasting through the field from his sixth place starting position. In the 25 lap main event, it was a struggle early for O’Brien as he fired off the starting grid from the ninth position. He had climbed a few positions before the first caution on lap 12, but lost most of those spots over the next few laps. A lap 19 caution regrouped the field one last time with O’Brien running in eighth place, and he was able to fight his way back up to finish in fifth place.

At Brockville Speedway, Danny started his qualifier from seventh place and charged through the field once again to finish in second. In the 30 lap feature, O’Brien started from the 10th position, but an incident going into turn one on the first lap of the race collected O’Brien, and he would to the pits to the attention of the team. He returned to the track for the restart and quickly proved that the car was ok as he raced back up to sixth place when the caution was displayed once again on lap two. By halfway, the 17D was up to fourth place, and moved to third after a lap 22 restart. The final caution of the race came on lap 25, and Danny picked up one more position, crossing the finish line in second place.

“I have to thank the crew for getting me back out on the track real quick after that first lap crash”, says O’Brien. “It was a good solid finish, which could have been much worse”.

O’Brien will return to Mohawk International Raceway this coming Friday night and will carry an eight point advantage with him in the battle for the coveted championship. On Saturday night, he will be back at Brockville Speedway with a 21 point advantage in the point standings.

The new 2014 Danny O’Brien t-shirts/sweatshirts/hoodies are in as well as the 2x3 flags, and license plate designs. Be sure to stop by the Finish Line Web Design driver merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand at Brockville Speedway each Saturday night.

Danny O’Brien Makes Last Minute Decision to Travel to Fulton Speedway on Saturday Night after Brockville Speedway Gets Rained Out

Like most weekend’s in 2014, Danny O’Brien and his race team had planned to visit Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night, and Brockville Speedway on Saturday night. Once again, Mother Nature refuse to co-operate on Friday night, and the decision was made early by track officials to cancel the program. Saturday was a little different story, as the forecast wasn’t all that bad going into Saturday afternoon, with just a minimal chance of rain. However, as O’Brien was enroute to the track, Mother Nature decided to make an appearance at the track, and Brockville Speedway also fell victim to rain.

Not wanting to stay home on a Saturday night, O’Brien opted to make a quick dash home to get passports, and before long they were back on the road, this time to Fulton Speedway. They arrived just before the qualifying heat races, and O’Brien would have to start at the rear of the field. The competition was tough, as O’Brien had his 358 Small Block while most of the other cars had Big Blocks, and the disadvantage was even more relevant with all the rain making the track very fast and tacky throughout the night. O’Brien ended the night with a 19th place result.

“The result doesn’t really matter here”, says O’Brien. “We wanted to come down here and have a little fun. We always enjoy racing at other tracks, and when Brockville made the decision to cancel, we all decided to give Fulton a try”.

This coming weekend O’Brien will be back at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night, and will return to Brockville Speedway on Saturday evening.

Danny O’Brien Battles Back From Early Race Incident to Score Top Five Finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night

The 2014 racing season got off to a fantastic start for Danny O’Brien and his race team through the first month of the season. He had already accumulated three feature wins and had top ten results in 6 of the 7 events he had entered. O’Brien was looking to continue that success into June with a regular program at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night.

In the qualifying heat race at Brockville, O’Brien was on a mission, starting from the rear of the field and storming through the field to pick up the win. After making some minor adjustments on the car to keep up with the changing track conditions, O’Brien hit the track for the 30 lap main event. He rolled off the starting grid from the 12th position, and was making some progress through the first couple laps. On lap three, Danny was caught up in an incident in turn one and two, and after a quick pit stop, he returned for the restart at the rear of the field. With just six laps complete, Danny once again moved his way forward and was inside the top ten. As the race approached the halfway point, O’Brien had climbed to fifth place, and would settle into that position for the remainder of the event.

“We had a strong car, but we lost all our track position after that early wreck and had to come from the back”, says O’Brien. “We were still able to salvage a top five finish, and we will be back next week looking to return to the winner’s circle.

This coming weekend, Danny will return to Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night after a rare weekend off last week for the Modified division. On Saturday night he will return to Brockville Speedway looking to get back to Victory lane. O’Brien continues to lead the points race at Brockville by just 11points.

Danny O’Brien Continues Early Season Domination with Another BOS Feature Win & Memorial Cup Win at Mohawk International Raceway

The 2014 season has started off extremely well for Danny O’Brien and his race team. O’Brien has had one of the dominant cars virtually every not that he has raced so far this season. He was looking to carry that momentum in a busy week of racing, which started on Wednesday night in Brockville for a Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series race piloting the LaSalle Motorsports 358 Modified. Friday night, O’Brien was looking to finally get the season started at Mohawk International Raceway after consecutive rainouts to start the season, and back to Brockville on Saturday night for their weekly program.

On Wednesday night, O’Brien had a great outing in the LaSalle Motorsports 358 Modified against the more powerful Big Block counterparts. Danny qualified through the heat race, started 16th in the feature and crossed the finish line as the top small block with an eighth place result.

Mohawk International Raceway was the destination on Friday night as they were looking to finally get the season underway. O’Brien was fast from the beginning of the night, starting third in his qualifier, and finishing in second, earning a spot in the redraw for a top 12 staring spot in the 50 lap Frenchie’s Series main event. Danny started from the sixth position, and patiently moved forward. The first caution came out on lap six, and O’Brien was up to third place, and was up to second just a few laps later. Another caution slowed the field on lap 16, and O’Brien powered to the lead on the restart. He led the final 34 laps, and picked up his first ever Memorial Cup win at Mohawk Raceway.

On Saturday night, O’Brien returned to Brockville Speedway looking for another win. He started 7th in his qualifier and advanced to finish second. In the 30 lap main event, Danny started from the 10th position and raced his way up to 4th by the time they completed lap 10. With 20 laps on the board, O’Brien worked his way to the front of the pack, and never looked back, picking up his second of the season at Brockville, and the weekend sweep.

“It was a great weekend for us. This team really worked hard and that paid off for us the last couple days”, says O’Brien from victory lane. “Hopefully we can keep this going all season long.

This coming weekend, O’Brien will have the night off at Mohawk International Raceway as Modifieds are not on the schedule. Danny will be in action at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night.

Danny O’Brien Soars to Victory in Brockville Speedway Thriller; Podium Finish in DIRTcar 358 Series Race at Cornwall Speedway

It was a very busy Victoria Day Weekend for Danny O’Brien and his team. They had planned four consecutive nights of racing, beginning with Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night, followed by Brockville Speedway on Saturday, Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night for their 100 lap DIRTcar 358 Series, and then on to Merrittville Speedway for holiday Monday with round two of the DIRTcar 358 tour.

Mohawk International Raceway has had some issues with Mother Nature, losing their opening event in late April, and also lost the rescheduled date for the first week in May. Their streak of bad luck continued, as the track officials had no choice but to cancel their program once again on Friday night.

The O’Brien crew soon shifted their focus to another Saturday night at Brockville Speedway. He started the night with a second place run in his qualifying heat race after starting from fourth. In the 30 lap main event, Danny lined up from the 10th position and wasted no time at all moving forward. After just four laps he was inside the top five and was clearly the fastest car on the track. By lap 11 he was up to third place, and advanced to second just before the halfway point of the race. O’Brien was strong all race long, and dove to the inside to take the race lead coming off turn four on lap 22 and pulled away to his first win of the season at the BOS.

“The car was great all night long”, says O’Brien. “I really have to thanks this crew, all of our sponsors for everything they do, and the great fans that have followed us over the years”.

The long weekend of racing continued on Sunday night as Cornwall Speedway opened their season with a 100 lap DIRTcar 358 Series/Canadian Nationals Series race. Danny posted the second fastest speed in his time trial group, placing him second to start his heat race. He finished the race in that same position, earning a spot in the redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the 100 lap main event. O’Brien started the race from the fifth position and maintained a top five spot throughout the event. In the closing laps, O’Brien advanced to third place, and crossed the line in that position.

The next stop was Monday night at Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ontario. O’Brien started the 100 lap feature from the seventh position, but it was a struggle early. The night ended with a disappointing 23rd place finish.

This coming weekend, O’Brien will attempt to race at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night and will return to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night looking to post back to back feature wins.

Danny O’Brien Grabs Second Place Finish on Opening Night at Brockville Ontario Speedway; Busy Weekend Ahead With 4 Nights of Racing

The 2014 season finally got underway on Saturday night for Danny O’Brien as they traveled to Brockville Ontario Speedway looking to get back on top of the 358 Modified division, and begin to defend his Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series championship with a 50 lap main event.

O’Brien would have to come from the back of his qualifying heat race, but he moved forward quickly, finishing with a solid third place effort. When he returned for the 50 lap feature, Danny rolled off the starting grid from the eighth position, and when the first caution of the night came on lap eight, Danny was already up to the fourth position. Just before the caution was displayed again on lap 14, O’Brien found his way to second, and made a strong bid for the lead on the ensuing restart before settling back into the runner-up spot. He maintained that position for the duration of the race, and crossed the finish line with a solid second place run.

“It was a good way to start our season”, says O’Brien after the race. “The car was good all night. We almost had the lead at one point on a restart but we couldn’t quite pull it off. I would like to say thanks to all of our sponsors, our fans, and the team that I have here that works on the car every week”.

This coming week will be a busy one for Danny O’Brien and his team.
